LONDON — EE has introduced its fastest-ever consumer broadband service, offering download speeds of up to 8Gbps as the company expands next-generation fibre connectivity across the UK. The launch marks a significant milestone in Britain's push for faster digital infrastructure.

The new Advanced Full Fibre Broadband service uses Openreach's XGS-PON network and is initially available in parts of Guildford and Woking. Alongside the flagship 8Gbps package, EE has also introduced a 2.3Gbps option for households and businesses with growing bandwidth demands.

The ultra-fast connections are designed for AI-powered applications, cloud computing, remote working, 4K and 8K streaming, online gaming and smart home technology. Industry analysts say demand for multi-gigabit broadband is increasing as more connected devices share the same home network.

EE says the rollout represents another step towards improving Britain's digital competitiveness. While availability remains limited during the initial phase, wider expansion is expected as Openreach continues upgrading its national fibre network.
