The newly planned Hampshire Air Festival 2026 has been cancelled just days before it was due to open, creating disappointment for aviation fans and raising questions over ticket refunds.

The event was scheduled for 12–13 September at Thruxton Aerodrome near Andover, with organisers planning a major programme of historic aircraft, aerobatic displays and entertainment. Thruxton confirmed the cancellation after being informed by event organiser Montserrat Events.

Montserrat Events said it was taking steps to put the company into liquidation, while directors seek legal and insolvency advice. Ticket holders have been advised to contact their debit or credit card provider about options for recovering payments.

The festival had been promoted as a celebration of aviation history, including the 90th anniversary of the Spitfire, alongside military displays, historic vehicles and aerobatic performances. Its sudden cancellation means the planned cultural and entertainment event will not go ahead this year.

The cancellation also comes only five days before the scheduled opening, leaving ticket holders, suppliers and event workers seeking clarity over payments and arrangements.
