London Faces Second Day of Tube Strike Disruption This Week

London commuters are facing another day of travel disruption as a London Underground drivers’ strike continues on Thursday, marking the second 24-hour stoppage this week amid an ongoing dispute over proposed changes to working patterns.

Transport for London (TfL) had urged the RMT union to suspend industrial action, but strike action went ahead as negotiations remain deadlocked over plans linked to the introduction of a four-day working week for drivers.

Several parts of the Underground network have been heavily affected, with no services operating on the Circle line, Piccadilly line and sections of both the Metropolitan and Central lines. Other services are running reduced timetables, with later start times, earlier finishes and lower frequencies.

By Thursday morning, TfL reported severe delays on the District, Bakerloo and Northern lines, while multiple other routes experienced minor disruption.

Despite the strike action, some transport services continue to operate normally, including the Elizabeth line, London Overground, Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and most national rail services. However, passengers have been warned to expect busier roads and crowded bus routes across the capital.
