A man convicted of preparing a terrorist attack on the Israeli Embassy in London has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 20 years.
Abdullah Sabah Albadri, 34, was sentenced at the Old Bailey on 5 October 2026 after being found guilty of preparing terrorist acts under the Terrorism Act 2006.
The case relates to an incident on 28 April 2025, when Albadri attempted to enter the embassy premises in Kensington while carrying two knives. Armed officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command intervened before he could enter the grounds.
The Crown Prosecution Service said prosecutors presented evidence including his movements towards the embassy, searches for its location and material recovered from his phone. He was also convicted of two offences involving possession of bladed articles.
Police said no one was seriously injured during the incident, which was stopped by officers protecting the diplomatic site. Counter Terrorism Policing said the investigation established that the embassy had been deliberately selected as the intended target.
The sentence follows a wider Counter Terrorism Policing investigation into the attempted attack and highlights the security measures surrounding diplomatic premises in London.
