Rolls-Royce is investing £300 million in manufacturing and engineering facilities across the UK, with the programme aimed at expanding capacity for its civil aerospace and defence businesses.
The investment will cover major sites in Derby, Bristol, Glasgow, Rotherham and Warwickshire. Rolls-Royce said the upgrades will help its UK infrastructure meet manufacturing demand and support future aerospace programmes.
More than £140 million will be invested in Derby, where new engineering and manufacturing facilities will support the company's Civil Aerospace operations. A further £90 million-plus is planned for Bristol, including improvements to facilities, digital infrastructure and maintenance capacity.
The programme also includes £43 million for new machinery at Inchinnan near Glasgow and £19 million at Rolls-Royce's Advanced Blade Casting Facility in Rotherham. The company says the Rotherham investment is expected to help double advanced turbine blade output by 2030.
Rolls-Royce said it has invested more than £3 billion in the UK since 2023, including research, engineering and infrastructure projects. The latest programme is expected to support skilled employment and activity across the company's domestic supply chain.
The investment places advanced aerospace manufacturing and engineering capacity at the centre of Rolls-Royce's latest UK expansion plans, with major projects scheduled to be completed between 2028 and 2031.
