LONDON, UK — Two men have been sentenced to a combined 55 years in prison after a shooting outside a nightclub in Bexleyheath left a 30-year-old man with life-changing injuries.

Marvin Bulle, 33, received a 35-year sentence, while Carlos Parks, 35, was jailed for 20 years at Woolwich Crown Court. The Metropolitan Police announced the sentences on 10 October following its investigation into the January shooting.

The incident happened shortly after 2am on 4 January, following a minor altercation inside a nightclub on Bexleyheath Broadway. Police said the victim was shot in the head at close range and taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Investigators used CCTV footage and ambulance dashcam recordings to identify the men. Parks was identified as the getaway driver, while Bulle was captured on camera firing the weapon. Both men were arrested in January.

The firearm was initially missing, but a converted starter pistol recovered during an unrelated investigation in Eltham in May was later linked to the shooting through forensic analysis, according to the Met.

The victim spent eight days in critical care and suffered lasting injuries, including damage that nearly cost him sight in his right eye. Police said the case demonstrated the serious consequences of gun crime and the importance of forensic evidence in securing convictions.

The sentences underline the severe penalties for serious firearms offences in London. The Metropolitan Police said its investigation brought both men to justice after a shooting that could have proved fatal.
