LONDON — British artificial intelligence company CuspAI has secured $450 million in Series B funding, one of the largest technology investments in the UK this year. The round was backed by leading venture capital firms, the UK government and investors including Jeff Bezos, highlighting growing confidence in Britain's AI ecosystem.

Based in Cambridge, CuspAI develops AI systems capable of discovering new materials for industries including semiconductors, clean energy, batteries and advanced manufacturing. The company has also launched the AI Materials Foundry, bringing together more than 45 global partners to accelerate scientific discovery using artificial intelligence.

The new investment will support international expansion, recruit top engineering talent and strengthen research capabilities, while helping position the UK as a global leader in AI-driven industrial innovation. Industry experts say the technology could significantly reduce the time required to develop high-performance materials for future technologies.

Technology analysts have welcomed the funding as another sign of the UK's rapidly expanding AI sector. The investment reinforces Britain's ambition to become a leading destination for frontier AI research, commercialisation and high-value technology jobs in the years ahead.
