India Investigates Tata Electronics Data Breach Linked to Apple iPhone 18 Pro Secrets

Indian authorities have launched an investigation into a cyberattack on Tata Electronics after confidential documents related to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro were leaked online.

According to government officials, the breach exposed sensitive files, including supplier lists, component details, and images of the unreleased iPhone 18 Pro. The stolen data was reportedly published on the dark web by a ransomware group that targeted Tata Electronics, one of Apple's key manufacturing partners in India.

S. Krishnan, Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, confirmed that the incident is under investigation. The case has also been reported to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the country's primary cybersecurity agency.

The leak has raised concerns over the security of Apple's global supply chain, as the exposed documents reportedly identify companies manufacturing specific iPhone 18 Pro components information Apple does not publicly disclose.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September. Following the breach, Tata Electronics has appointed an international cybersecurity consulting firm to conduct a forensic investigation into the incident.

The cyberattack also reportedly exposed documents linked to several major technology companies, including Tesla, Qualcomm, and TSMC, highlighting the broader impact of the data breach as investigators work to determine its full scope.
