Lloyds Banking Group has reported statutory profit before tax of £6.6 billion for the first nine months of 2026, up from £4.7 billion during the same period last year.

The results, published on 29 October, point to stronger financial performance at one of Britain’s largest banking groups, supported by higher total income and a lower remediation charge.

The bank also reported continued income growth and stable credit performance, while saying it remained on track to meet its financial guidance for 2026.

Lloyds said its next strategic phase, known as Accelerate 2030, will focus on supporting customers, developing its business and delivering sustainable value for shareholders.

The results come at a significant time for UK businesses and households, as the government’s latest Budget introduces changes affecting taxation, household costs and business investment.

Investors will be watching whether Lloyds can sustain its earnings performance while managing lending risks, operating costs and changing economic conditions.

The figures cover the first nine months of the year, rather than the third quarter alone, and should not be interpreted as a full-year profit result.
