The UK government has announced a £100 million package to strengthen Ukraine’s air defences ahead of the winter, as Britain steps up military support for Kyiv.

The funding will contribute to NATO’s Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List and help provide Patriot missile interceptors and other air-defence equipment designed to protect Ukrainian civilians, critical infrastructure and military forces from Russian attacks.

Defence Secretary Wes Streeting is chairing a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, bringing together around 50 countries supporting Ukraine. The UK says the latest commitment is focused on ensuring additional defensive equipment reaches Ukraine before winter.

Britain also says it remains on track to provide more than 120,000 drones to Ukraine during 2026, with around 25,000 already delivered. The drones include interception, reconnaissance and attack capabilities.

The announcement comes amid concerns that winter could bring renewed attacks against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and civilian targets, making air-defence capacity a major priority for Kyiv and its international partners.
