Dyfed-Powys Police has confirmed it was hit by a cyber incident, prompting an investigation into whether information relating to police staff may have been accessed or compromised.

The incident was identified on 14 September 2026 and caused disruption to some of the force's non-emergency systems. The police force said specialist cybersecurity support was brought in and precautionary measures were taken while its systems were investigated.

Police said there is currently no evidence that members of the public's personal data was accessed or compromised. However, investigators are continuing to examine whether staff information was affected.

The force confirmed that emergency response operations were not affected, with both 999 and 101 telephone services remaining available. Online and email contact services that were temporarily unavailable have also been restored.

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has been notified, while the investigation is being managed by Tarian through its regional cyber-crime unit. Force systems continue to be monitored as the investigation progresses.

Authorities have not publicly identified who was responsible for the incident or disclosed the method used to gain access. Further information is expected as the investigation develops.
