A GP has issued an urgent reminder to women not to ignore symptoms that last longer than three weeks, warning that persistent signs could point to ovarian cancer often referred to as a “silent killer” because symptoms can be difficult to spot in the early stages.

In a video shared on Instagram, Dr Amir Khan highlighted several warning signs linked to the condition and encouraged women to seek medical advice if symptoms continue or worsen. According to cancer statistics, around 7,700 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the UK every year, with approximately 3,900 deaths recorded annually. Experts stress that recognising symptoms early can improve access to treatment and potentially lead to better outcomes.
