The Metropolitan Police are continuing an urgent search for Anthony Lloyd, 38, who absconded from a medical facility in Lewisham, south London, prompting a public safety warning.

Police said Lloyd was last seen at approximately 4.10pm on Friday, 23 October, after forcing his way out of the unit. He was reportedly heading towards Catford, although officers believe he could now be elsewhere in London.

Lloyd is described as around 5ft 8in tall, of medium build, with short dark hair. When last seen, he was wearing a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

Detective Superintendent Melanie Pressley said officers were conducting urgent enquiries to locate him and return him to custody. Police have warned that they are concerned about the risk he may pose to himself and the public.

The search could extend beyond London. Police say Lloyd has links to Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Merseyside.

Members of the public who see Lloyd are urged not to approach him and to call 999, quoting reference CAD4739/23Oct.

The investigation remains a developing story. Readers should check the Metropolitan Police's latest updates for any change in the search status.
